Shutter speed is perhaps the most creative adjustment available to a photographer. It allows one to freeze action or use motion blur to create a variety of effects. You can alter reality and make it your own.
A fast shutter speed can freeze even the fastest moving objects dead in their tracks. For this to work, one will need a fairly brightly lit subject, as fast shutter speeds will not allow your camera much time to gather light for your exposure.
